Františkovy Lázně – In this town, the first mud baths ever established in the world were opened in 1792 (In that same year Austrian Emperor Franz I was crowned a Czech king and the spa facility was thus named after him.). The local environs are rich in rare natural resources: sulfur-ferric bog (baths and wraps), mineral springs with a high content of Glauber’s salt (drinking therapy and baths) and dry natural gas (baths, gas injections). The local therapeutic facilities specialize in the treatment of heart conditions and blood circulation, of vascular diseases, of locomotion organs disorders, but mainly of gynecologic concerns, including infertility. Every year, the local therapeutic services attract about 30 000 spa guests.
